The best film to defy all codes and conventions is probably The Shwshank Redemption in my opinion. However, if you're asking the best film i've ever seen? Scarface.....

The original making of The Wicker Man, director's cut. The greatest film ever made. The music, the script, the acting, the suspense, the just left of reality feel to it. Pisses on the re-make which is just a complete waste of time.

My all time fave would have to be Dirty Dancing. I thought it
was a fantatsic move. Then i would say If Only. A movie that makes a person think about the important things in life. Girls!!!
A major tear jerker. So get those tissues out

Two-way tie.
Oldboy: Amazing Korean revenge drama. Out of this world acting and a story like none I've ever seen.
Amelie: Such a sweet movie. Wonderful script, directing, acting, music, cinematography, every last detail was perfect.

Lawn dogs with Sam Rockwell and a very young Mischa Barton. A really sweet, weird and a little depressing, and the ending is quite nice, but not at the same time. EVERYONE HAS TO SEE THIS MOVIE!!
