Because its probably easier to meet that way in a chatroom and also loneliness is a factor too. some of us are facing problems in our private lives and find this a good way of escapism, however we are very vunerable and can be easily led. when on the net we need to realise that we could get hurt too. however im sure there have been sucessful relationships that have met online so i just say go with the flow, never expect too much...

That is what I call Diana Syndrome.. I can never comprehend why people get emotionally involved with someone they have no connection with..Call me a hard stone face b'stard but - don't we all have too many of our own problems to be worrying & caring about someone or something we do not know. Latching on to something - I see it as a sign of Lonelyness or having some sort of void in their life.

because it is sometimes easier to chat when you are not face to face.
It takes some a lot of courage to start talking to a new person with all the fumbling, blushing stammering, struggling for things to say etc but piece of cake when hiding behind keyboard and monitor.

because they don't realise (or maybe they do!) the reality of meeting the person wouldn't be nearly as good so they have a little imaginary relationshop instead of dealing with the nitty gritty of people in real life

hmm.. since they are in fact looking for someone in the first place means they are already expecting some excitement to come. And when it does come, of course the feeling would be there.. like.. OK..here's a chance.. let's try my best to get it going. hehe
