How many of you are sitting in a job you hate.... or bored at home doing nothing.

Life is so short, why are we wasting it here instead of going out and experiencing the fantastic things the world has to offer.

Why should we be slaves to boredom.......

I work in my local library for quite low pay. I live in a council flat that I cannot afford to buy. I have brought up my two daughters on my own and have really struggled financially for all of my adult life. Both of my girls are doing really well (the older one has a degree and the youngest has just passed 12 GCSE's, with six A's). I get on really well with both of my daughters, the little one still lives at home and the older one lives a few streets away with her lovely boyfriend (who has become part of the family) although they will be moving a bit further away soon as they have just bought their first home. In the 5 years in my council flat I have totally landscaped the back garden - we have beautiful trees and shrubs that really came into their own this year and we also have a wildlife pond full of newts, toads and frogs. I have a wonderful partner who helps with all of this, though he does not have a job and probably never will, so financially we have nothing to look forward to and I expect to have to support him financially in the future. Other than that, I know he loves me and is very supportive and is always happy for my kids to always come first. Although my work is not well-paid and I constantly struggle for money, I use this position to help people in my community - people are always knocking on my door for help and advice. I would not swap my life with anyone. I was brought up by wealthy parents who were at each other's throats all the time and my life as a child was an absolute misery, there was so much violence at home that I did not expect to live to adulthood, so every day alive is a bonus. I see how happy and well-balanced my girls are and that more than makes up for my own childhood. I am vey content with my life as I have very good relationships with the people I love and also good relationships with people within my community.

I am definitely going to change my life in a huge way next year!!! Right now I am living and caring for my 88 year old grandmother and we mostly stay home and do nothing except for when we go grocery shopping or go out to lunch/Dinner. Anyway, I am working for a small construction company making good money, but Im not doing what I really want to do. I want to go back to EMT School, get my certification and then go onto Paramedic School!! So, I am saving up my money to move to Phoenix, Arizona and I will be going to EMT/Paramedic School out there while living on my own again!!! I am going to get involved in a good bible based church, meet some new people and make some new friends and get involved in activities that will keep me motivated and encouraged!!!!!!!!!!!!

It sounds great in theory but going out and experiencing fantastic things can cost fantastic amounts of cash. And without the dull mundane job you wont have the facilities to experience the fantastic things. You cant play all your life. You have to work before you can reap the benefits. Sad but true

It is easy to be out looking for the "perfect" life, but it's inside you, and changing yourself from within often changes how you look on your life. There is no such thing as the perfect life, and all things become mundane if you let them.

I look back on my life, and there are people I wish I'd never let go, and peolpe I wish I had... There are jobs I wish I'd tried, and places I'd love to have been...

BUT...
I have made a life, have two wonderful children, and a husband who loves me and I job I love. Friends who are great, and hobbies I love. Individually none of these things are perfect, but all in all it is my life and I love it.
I think you have to learn to accept imperfections, and look positively on life, then you will be content.

If something is not right there is only ever one person who can alter that.... YOU!

I think most of us are guilty of becoming stagnent in our lives. I could go through my days blindfolded cos each day is virtually the same!!

Saying that tho, I am quite happy and things could be alot worse, and have been in the past if I'm honest.

Maybe one day I will follow my dream, but for today and the forseeable future i am a working mum with bills to pay.

I probably would. Help more people, not give the people I love more grief, get out more. I'm not a bad person, just someone with very little imagination, in a big city with so much to offer. And I'm sitting here answering your question......

We shouldnt be. 10 years ago I left a bad marriage and 7 years ago quit a crappy job. I am now remarried with two beautiful children and Im at home with them designing jewelry in my spare time. I realized that I was the ONLY person who was going to change my life. I think many times we don't make the move out of fear of change and fear of the unknown and fear of failure! But you never know until you try!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
