Didn't have enough characters left to write "incorrectly" so I thought someone like yourself would take pleasure in highlighting my "mistake".
Mwah ha ha.

This'll put the cat amongst the pigeons AND upset a load of people too, BUT::::::::
If SOME of these people who claim to be dyslexic had paid a bit more attention in school, perhaps they wouldn't be dyslexic!
BEFORE YOU ALL START SCREAMING ABUSE, I'm NOT talking about the GENUINE dyslexic people for whom I have every sympathy, only those who use it as an excuse for their own laziness at school and who are now suffering as a result.
You'll get something similar in a few years time with all these youngsters thinking it oh so clever to "talk text", but sooner or later they'll come to grief over it when they realise that when the rest of the world uses English as its business language, text words won't be acceptable or indeed understood! I shall then laugh. Very loudly!
Oh, and before I forget, don't start quoting the usual crap about the language constantly evolving because I don't fall for it!

I think a good language is one that helps people communicate well without the need of too much effort. If people have to work hard to spell words right, what is the need to spell them right in the first place? Having said that, one can be lazy by deliberately not expressing themselves right in writing for instance, that's what makes some people criticise those people who blame it on dyslexia.

I can be lazy sometimes, and know exactly when I am lazy... but there are other instances when I try very hard and end up reading/writing things in the wrong way, usually when I am tired or when I had had a hard long day at work. I can't escape getting tired from working hard, however I can avoid exacerbating that by not sleeping well or not eating well, which usually helps keep me more focused. I still make mistakes, but the number of mistakes is less when I am not too tired.
I don't know if I am a true dyslexic, but I try to keep myself stress-free as much as I can because I know I function better as a whole when I am not tired.

dyslexia is a very wide ranging problem and some people can spell better than others. The biggest problem is that a dyslexics needs change, so one day they may be able to write a word and the next they can't. Similarly with reading some days are harder than others. It is all very individual and so one remedy will never help all.

I'm dyslexic. My problem isn't with spelling. It's when I'm tired or something, and letters or numbers get mixed up. I'll read a sentance wrong. OR I work in a hotel, and I have to put bills under the door at night. Sometimes I read the wrong number, like I read 210 for 201.

Tried it. Just ***** me up even more.

Emma, I'm not berating you, first thing! Just letting you know, you're right. Some are just lazy. I don't have a SEVERE case, I just mix letters/numbers up sometimes. I still managed to graduate HS in the top of my class. You just have to want to put in the extra time. Whether it's reading something 5 times to get it right, or compulsively going over your work 10 times. People that use it for an excuse piss me off too!

Assuming that their preliminary spelling could be incorrect, then the respond is for specific. the proportion of superb spellings could pass down because of fact the style of letters interior the word is going up. =)

No, dyslexia is not just about spelling words incorrectly.

Interesting thought. Unfortunately, the universe doesn't work that way. That is to say that it would work when you didn't need it to, but wouldn't work when you did. Best way to find a lost object is not to look and not to need it.
