Why do they assume that latinos are ignorant and that all they do is have an extrem amount of kids? Where do these assumptions come from? Do these people even know any latinos? How often do u interact with them

That kind of ignorance makes me shudder.
Ask them back if they speak American.
Bet they do.

I don't assume. I know some latinos from California, Texas, New York and other places. But those are the main places you see them. If you weren't raised near Latinos that's all you know or assume. I was lucky to be raised in diverse neighborhoods so I saw all races.

Most people that ask questions like "do you speak mexican?" are ignorant and have not taken any time to try to research other nationalities and maybe have never been around other ethnic groups. When you encounter people like that do not get mad, on the contrary give them some knowledge and explain the importance on stereotyping.

Because people don't bother to educate themselves on things. They'd rather run around and act like idiots.

My boyfriend is Mexican, and it gets really annoying when my friends make stupid comments like "Hey, so what was it like to jump the border?" and when my sister says, "So, is Ivan from Puerto Rico or what?" or when people refer to Reggaeton as "Mexican music."

I think stereotypes in general are just very annoying.

Well, I guess that it happens in America. Mexican is the most closed exixtence for us.

and im a japanese. when i was in america, everyones asumed that i was a chinese.

same thing.

But I didint know there was a Mexican langage. I thought they spoke Spanish.

I am not a Latino nor a Mexican but am still sometimes confused with being one (I am Euro-Asian) and I know what you mean. It is sooooo tiring, isn't it?

when will people learnnnnn.........americans are probably the most ignorant of all nations on earth.........eg they think they won vietnam war, they think they are going to win Iraq, they think they are the master nation/race,they think people actually like them, they think there is intelligent life in outer space cause they cant find it in the US

I don't know, they're mostly stupid blacks and redneck whites. They all think I'm Mexican but I'm really Colombian! They're so mean!
