Hmm, let's see if I can keep this simple (and make people hate me for my answer, but that's inevitable!):
Babies have done nothing wrong. They don't deserve to be murdered. People should use condoms and/or birth control, or NOT HAVE SEX if they don't want children.
Murderers HAVE done something wrong. I don't want my taxes to go to feeding them until they rot. And they shouldn't be released from prison, either. SO that leaves one thing: DEATH.
The war in Iraq:
Hussein had WMD's. His former administration admits it. Weapons were found.
Twelve million Iraqis voted.
Congress and the Senate favored this "preemptive strike."
Many Iraqis are glad we went in.
How DARE you say that those brave men and women died for nothing! Those men and women are my husband's brothers and sisters. Some people we've known died there. They did NOT give their lives for nothing, and most soldiers I've talked to believe (because they've seen it FIRST HAND!) that this war WAS justified.
Let's see, who am I going to believe:
Some guy on the internet who may or may not have been there, or people that I KNOW were there? Tough choice, really.
Not all people live in poverty in the States. My husband and I are middle-class. So are most people we know, even the ones who are non-military.
So speak for yourself, bud, not everyone else.

Read "The End Of Poverty" by Frederick Sachs.
I checked the book out of the library just to have something to read. I wasn't expecting much. I put the book down at 4:00 a.m.

Everyday someone here impresses me with their ingenuity. This is a great question and I try to ask questions like these everyday. The hypocrisy is astounding. I wonder sometimes if these people look in mirrors aand see someone else.
Thanks for asking this.

Yes, I think so. Don't forget that this illegal war that Bush lied us into is is responsible for about 655,000 Iraqi deaths and thousands of seriously injured Americans.

you earthlings are strange, while you have 5,000 children dying from hunger, and another 10,000 from dehydration....just for no other reason than food and basic medicine, you spend millions on getting yourself and others killed over stupid reasons.
so it seems that democracy is worth more to you than basic needs such as food (On my planet children first need food and then later on they can learn about democracy if they choose to, but we don't force democracy on people anyway)
.
It is rather strange that..you would spend millions of dollars to send your armies to a countries ruled by dictators to force democracy on those people, and think later about their food needs.
You are strange creatures indeed!
