Its defenetly Ronaldinho. He is being criticised for his poor performance lately but I think he is still the best. He simply changes the game. Even though he has not been performing as well teams still put 2-3 man marking him all the time.

It is very difficult to put the fame any of the footballing genius as “greatest footballer” ever in the history of game. Players like Alfredo de Stefano, Pele, George Best, Crauf, Beckenbaur, Maradona, etc. are all great players. When such great players were supported by great teams (particularly by their national team) and won major trophies like world cup, they become all time great, like Pele in 1970 and Maradonna in 1986 world cups. So, we see there are few all time great footballers, but no greatest player ever.

Ronaldinho is a great player! he has a great individual skill (take note the samba skills and the grace!) and does influence his team as well. But let's also consider Thierry Henry, Steven Gerrard, Fabio Cannavaro and the most underrated player of all, the now retired Dennis Bergkamp!

Thierry Henry is the best player. Ronaldinho moves his body more than the ball. Henry is just classic. I love him.

well right now it's thierry henry. for the last few years he's been playing at an unbelieveable level. he played well in the world cup, and ronaldinho was a huge FLOP. he sucked, there's no doubt he's got more potential than anyone, just not quite living up to it
