Why are men so obsessed with young girls?

Question

I am 38 and single. All my male aquaintances whom are single and over 35 are chasing after ridiculously young girls.
I know some of my male 'friends' whom are well past 40 have been involved with girls as young as 18--fresh out of highschool!
I personally think it is disgusting for a man to be with a woman who is young enough to be his daughter.

So answer my question, men, What's wrong with the ladies your own age? I have seen many beautiful ladies who are over 40, they were sexier and prettier than any 20 year old i've seen...
So, what's wrong with them?

I think being attracted to a woman so young is pedophelia. I mean, if a man so old is willing to be with a girl as young as 18, how do we know he's not willing to go even younger? Just because the law says 18, doesn't mean it's right. When I was 16, I was exactly the same as I was when I was 18.


Are there any men left out there who date women their own age?

If it's about being sexually attractive, that's stupid!
I have said and will say again that the most beautiful women I have seen in my life were over 40. If a woman takes care of herself (eats right, exercises regularly, wears makeup, wears nice clothing, etc) she will look good at any age.
Not to sound mean, But I have seen many many many young women who don't take care of themselves and don't look even half as good as the older ladies.

yes you are right that men like the women who are at the tender age of their adulthood. This I think because at this age women mostly are more energetic,enthusiast,have a physical appearance that looks fresh unlike the aged women no matter how pretty the aged women may be, above all they are innocent.This power of innocence as far as I think is the biggest reason why men at 40 become naughty after seeing a pretty young girl. but as you think, i also find it pathetic

Well I wouldn't go so far as to call it that. This brings to mind a question I asked some time ago about whether our society is becoming more immature, and almost everyone agreed that people were remaining in an adolescent type mindset well into their 30s and 40s whereas previous generations seemed much more down to earth and responsible and less into teenagerish type things than the 30 and 40 somethings of this generation.

There seem to be people of that age range listening to adolescent type music (probably cuz it sounds almost the same as it did 10-15 years ago), playing video games. I lost interest in video games at age 15, then had a brief revival for a few weeks, with them when I was in my early 20s due to a friend getting me back into them, and could care less about them now in my early 30s. Older people grew up in an adolescent type society, the music they grew up with was childish and immature. So its natural that as the taste in music reflects a mindset, if those tastes of ones youth are retained as they become older, their mindset, and thus also their taste in younger type people will naturally correspond. America in general is becoming more immature - my old boss was in his mid 30s and I saw a Britney Spears CD on his desk once, my next boss was in her late 30s and her favorite show was South Park, which I never got. I can't imagine a 30 something liking such things back in the mid 50s before the birth of Rock and Roll sort of made each subequent generation that followed not want to ever grow up.

Thats why so many older men are into these young girls, because they are remaining teenagers (at least to some extent) in their minds even as their bodies age. Its a consequence of the youth oriented culture people grow up in. In addition, I have noticed that the very celebrities that seem to be most popular seem to have teenagerish personas, Lindsay Lohan, Britney Spears, Jessica Simpson, Justin Timberlake,to name a few. Whereas back in the old days, it was Cary Grant, Clark Gable, Elizabeth Taylor, Grace Kelley, who even in their 20s had older, more mature personas. I mean its hard to put a 26 year old Grace Kelley next to a 26 year old Ashton Kutcher and believe they are the same age. So the types that are made celebrities are changing also, which may contribute to it.

Anyway, sorry for the long answer, but the explanation is not so obvious.

Personally, 38 year old women can be very attractive, and of course, it depends on the person, some look better in their 40s even, like Elizabeth Taylor in my opinion.

I think because most men think young girls are more sexually attractive than older women. Besides, old men who date younger girls have more experience in life and can be somewhat in control of a relationship because young girls usually lack of experience; while older women who are about the same age as older men tend to debate or argue back to them in certain circumstances.

Younger women(girls)bring about a Youthfulness in older men, and give them that sense of "still having it," to lift the Libido and Ego. I do agree with you to a point.
But not all older men that are attracted to younger girls are Pedophiles, just immature themselves.
I do agree that there are many beautiful women in their 40's that are just as vibrant as an 18 year old. But the mentality is in a different range, and apparently these Men are unable to relate to it.

Theres nothin wrong with women in their 40's. Some men want to recapture their youth by chasing young tush. As for sex, women in their 40's are soooo much better, more relaxed and more likely to get nutty (good nutty)
