WARNING - this answer contains a bit of a spoiler.
For the uninitiated, this is an RPG/shooter with a difference. It can be played either with maximum gore or minimum violence. By using mostly non-lethal take-downs and evasion tactics, it is possible to complete the game after killing only one AI character (or two, depending on the ending you choose). AI characters treat JC Denton (you) differently, according to how much you value human life.
Absolutely brilliant game.

Yes it is amazing. I am a big gamer and love all sorts of games. I accidentally received this game from a friend and I just popped it in my PS2 and I was hooked. I've been trying to get more people to play it because it really is a gem. The story line is great even though the graphics wouldn't be considered the best. It takes a while to master the controls but it is worth the time. But walking through the subways and watching the homeless was really creepy but at the same time it was comfortable. I felt like I really needed to help those people. Anyway it was wonderful. Not many games to compare it to.

Yes I was a great game.
One of the first RPG first person shooters.
I say "Was" as it looks a bit flat and too short when compaired to today games Oblivion, Prey, Half Life 2 ect

Great game, but you should try Half Life 2 for FUN. it is the most amazing game ever made!

It was a good game but could have been better, as you lost the freedom of choice in dealing with problems as you progressed in the game.

i would have loved to played it but it did not work on my machine. Looks fun though, a little like vampire the masquerade. Search for that game. Its really good and horror show.

RPG, with distinctive play-varieties relying on what skills you learn by augmentations. that's stealth-based action or extra right now up third-guy or woman shooter. i'd say that's properly worth it for the thrilling tale.

i thought this game was fantastic, it mixed an RPG with a very nice shoot em up, it came together a great story line too. very cool...... very cool indeed!!!

Great game, sadly looking a wee bit dated though....
Still good story, good use of inventory
But...
SYSTEM SHOCK 2 IS MUCH BETTER
