I've never been infected by spyware or adware, and have had one email virus in about 10 years of internet use - there are a few simple reasons for this.

1. I use Linux.
2. I don't go to porn sites.
3. I don't use peer-to-peer services.
4. I don't go to crack/hack sites.

So in my opinion the key to computer security is "be sensible". If you go to lots of "suspicious places" on the internet, then you're going to infect your computer. Stay away, and your PC will be fine.

Spyware is a software which quitely sneeks in ur comp. when either
you download suspected software or visit a bad site.It can leak sensitive information on ur pc like credit card no.passwords etc. to the person who has created the spyware.

To protect urself the best bet is to download AdAware SE Personal. Its the best antispyware software &I'm completely satisfied withit.but you must also use another software in case ..........
the other best alternative is Spybot S&D

To prevent spyware from installing install SpywareBlaster and Spyware Guard they don't let spyware to install.

Remember to Update these programs time to time. :-)

Go here to get the anti sypware program (and others)

All are free and recommended. I suggest you get AVG Anti-Spyware (formerly Ewido) and Spyware Blaster.

You could always ask an expert to check your computer out at:

Register, go to the Hijack This Forum, read the instructions on how to post a log, give a brief description of your problem (like you've just typed) and post your log there. The guys in there are fantastic and trustworthy and will guide you through in getting rid of anything nasty from your computer. Good luck!
