I live in Okinawa, Japan and we have warm weather all year round. From October to mid November, it's still in the 80's and very much beach weather. On mainland Japan, it's Fall and has a nice breeze.

It is Autumn, in Japan (where I live at least,Kansai area) It means warm sun and a gentle breeze during the Afternoon. At Night open up the windows and enjoy a nice cooler breeze. We just took the "Heavier" blankets out for the Futon this week. I live in "The Burbs" so I can't respond to those who have the benefit of living in more mountainest area's. If you are thinking about coming here for the best of what the four season's has to offer. I would say go to Kyoto during the first 2 weeks of April. Spring in Japan kick's butt. Sakura season is the best.

Fall in Japan. Cool in Tokyo, even cooler north, like Hokkaido. Warm in Chubu (Central Honshu), on the coast, cool in the mountains, and warm in Kinki (Osaka area), and even warmer in Kyushu and Okinawa.

Wonderful times. In Yokohama's Chinatown they are starting to roast chestnuts on the street in November, and Persimmons are big in the little fruit and veggie stands in the neighborhoods.

In Tokyo, the hot sweet potato vendors are starting to drive around, with the Yakimo song playing the in the evening on the side streets as we walk home from the eki.

In the evening in Tokyo, before getting on the rush hour train, stop for a little Hot Takoyaki and cold beer, feel right at home with the salarimen!
