No...not even in consideration. Jamey Carroll, Craig Biggio, Josh Barfield, Orlando Hudson, Marcus Giles, Ray Durham, Dan Uggla, Chase Utley, Brandon Phillips, and Jose Castillo are in consideration. Valentine only started 87 games at 2nd base...not enough for a gold glove. He did do well with a 0.988% fielding (only Carroll and Biggio were higher) but just didnt start enough games.

Biggio should get it, IMO.

Jamie Carroll of the Rockies had the highest fielding percentage of all second baseman in the entire league.
