You are pretty young and usually in your twenties you are still trying to find yourself whether you party all night, go to school or work full time. You will eventually outgrow it. The best thing is to surround yourself with older people or mentors, go to school or stay in school, take a sociology class, see a therapist and network.
The economy sucks right now and our country is in turmoil, so everyone is feeling frustrated now and it's a domino affect. We can't get ahead for struggling. But you can change that around it just takes time.
Usually in your thirties and forties, you will feel frustrated as well trying to work, care for children/spouse and take care of home expense/needs. This is called overwhelming responsibility.
Again, I say go to school(not a quick fix school that cost a lot of money for very little pay). It doesn't promise you anything but it opens up opportunities for you that you otherwise would not have.

Don't look at this as a problem of society. We are all looking for something to make us happy. You need to sit down and figure out what is important to you in life. What do you like to do? Do you feel best when you help other people? Help animals? Love research? Teaching others? Whatever you like to do, there is always a job out there. And being able to help others, in some way, always gives you a boost.

About depression - sometimes, just being happy can't get you out of a funk. If it is a true depression where you are lacking certain chemicals, just a positive attitude won't help. However, if you are just frustrated with the world in general, you have two options. You can either blame society and have a negative feeling which in turn makes others frustrated with you, and the cycle keeps going, or you can decide that it your choice to wake up each morning and be happy. Whenever you allow someone else (or society in general) to 'make you upset or down,' then you have let others have control over you. Take charge of your life - you will feel much better and your accomplishments mean so much more!

Whatever you decide to do, just know that you will, in some way, touch the lives of others. Even just a smile to someone could mean the world. A positive attitude is a great start to anything.

What you should do is in the domain of Gods plan for you. Pray and ask often (the squeaky wheel) and be prepared to listen. You may not think you like the message you receive but in the end you will be happier doing it His way.

go to Mexico and work hard to organize the oppressed people to take action and through off the yoke of oppression and raise the standard of living there so we all have a place to retire when we get old, and there is no SS money available for us.

For you, you have to be open and honest with yourself about what things truly make you happy. Not what things society say you should be happy with. Come to taht realization, and you will feel less fustrated with society. Looking at your entire life starting from when you were a kid, and remembering all the things you had a passion for and made you happy will be a good start.

I'm fustrated with society, but for different reasons. I'm dissapointed in peoples arrogance, hypocracy, and stupidity, but thats an entirely different story, and this is your question, plus I already made a question about that. :)

You have to identify your goal first.

This is a very simple template:

Write and answer the following on your cellphone or on a piece of paper and keep it with you to refer back to it when you get more ideas throughout the day:

What do I love most in life:
What are the things that makes me happy:
How can I make a living out of it:

e.g.
I love being around people sharing great experiences.
I'm happy when I go out shopping, being with friends and go on holidays.
I can make a living out of it by pursuing in human resources (e.g. recruitment) or fashion design.

Good luck

maybe you're trying too much too fast. everyone has to start at the bottom and crawl up.
Society does suck, though.
