I have been taking ortho tryclclin lo for over a year and I am married. I have unprotected sex and I have yet to miss a period. I have missed maybe 2 pills in the last 4 packs and have taken them within 24hours. I am in the green pills and on the 5 out of 7th day for my period and I havent bled one bit. I have a cold and am taking some antibiotics but I am concerned. I took a pregnancy test and it said I was negative, although I was told it could be a false positive or false negative. Does anyone know anything on this topic? Please help!

for starters anytime you take antibiotics while on the pill you should use a back up method like condoms cuz it makes the pill less affective. you could be pregnant but not far enough along to show up on a test. i would see the doc and get another test done

Good news and bad.

Good news: Colds, illness, and stress (which sounds like you are doing a little) can all cause you to miss your period. I was supposed to have my period on the week before my wedding. I was so stressed, I skipped it completely - even with being on the pill! So external factors can cause you to miss.

Bad news: I was on the pill when I got pregnant with my daughter.

If the test states negative, then more than likely you are. If you are still not sure, then see your doctor, and have them do the blood test. That will determine the truth. I would be willing to bet you're not, but then again, I don't have a medical degree. . .

Dont worry about it now. Pregnancy tests are most accurate after a month or two after sex. Dont worry, just wait, your period may be late, because you jumped the pills so much and now you are taking antibiotics aswell, so your system is a bit out of sync, but it will come right. Your hormones go out of balance when you dont take the pills correctly and this can cause for your period to be late or early. Wait until your period comes eventually or wait until your next period was supposed to come and then do a test. Its probably nothing serious. Calm down, relax and breath. This has happened to me alot and I also stressed about it, but all you can do now is wait, so just wait and see. I

Remember if your hormone levels are low they will not show up on a home or any urine test. Go to the doc and ask for a blood test. Good Luck!
