he wrote it as a thanks to his wife for always being there when he was an alcoholic and helping him through it. I like it because its about never giving up on some one as my partner and i have never done, even when we had a few problems 5 yrs ago. we stuck together so we made this song our song.

Livin on a prayer bon jovi because it was the 1st song of theres i ever hearsd and still love them and it over 20 years later. Always cheers me up if im down, sing it in the car after a bad day at work and now ive given the jovi bug to my 11 year old nephew he sings it too!
