No matter what the item is - whether it's something physical like a bike or intangible like a religion - there will always be someone who sneers at your choices. It's just life. Ignore them, and enjoy your bike! Which you will because YOU'VE chosen it rather than following someone else's dream.

At 24 years young it is a Classic if not an antique.
If YOU love it, it doesn't matter what anyone else thinks.
I have had more compliments than laughs when riding old Hondas.
Remember Honda's old slogan, "Come ride with us"?
I believe it was developed after an overheard Motorcycle Weekend conversation involving riders of the then new Ninja and a guy on a 1974 Honda CL360. Lots of laughs ends up with the Honda rider saying "Oh, yeah? You don't ride where I ride, come ride with me. You wanna go? Come ride with me." Too bad they didn't. The back roads were lots of fun and I would have had home turf advantage over engine size.

Sometimes it is a American made American company vs other countries made bikes. My husband and I ride Harley Davidsons, but oldest son loves Ninjas and youngest son loves KZ dirt bikes, where he does all that jumping and flipping and stuff. Both also have HD street cruisers too, for family riding. I had a Honda Shadow 750 in the 80's that I adored and rode all the time, and I don't let other people put down other types of bikes, because really, 2 wheels, handlebars, you ARE IN THE WIND. Let your honda be your love and defend her until the end of time. I have a honda CR-V and I don't take no crap from anyone about her, she's the best car for me. I'm glad you have a passion for something. Stick to it.

People always think their brand or idea or self-identity is superior. Don't let them get you down. If someone ridicules you for the bike you ride, they ain't worth riding with. Simple as that. I'm a Kawasaki rider who runs with Harleys, Hondas, sport bikes & cruisers. There is a bit of good natured ribbing, but nothing hurtful. They tease me about the Japanese bike, I tease them about how often they break down. It evens out. :-)
Good luck!

Some people think they need to justify why they ride what they ride by putting down other types of bikes. True motorcycle enthusiasts don't care what you ride, they're just happy to see more bikes on the road.

Don't pay any attention to the haters. REAL riders don't care what you ride as long as you ride.
Some people just have low self esteem and have to put someone else down to make them feel superior. Don't sweat it.

I ride a Harley Lowrider, one of my friends rides a Gold Wing, and our other ridin' buddy rides his 1972 Honda 175 street bike. We are a rather funny looking trio. We get lots of funny looks and it gives us something to laugh about. It doesn't matter what you ride as long as you like it don't worry about other people. Most of the remarks are made in good fun...Enjoy yourself.Congradulations on the new bike..I'm glad to hear you got one ya like

Only Squids care what you ride. Yes, it's silly to see a 300-lb man riding a Rebel or a Buell Blast, but they're RIDING.
Real motorcyclists don't care what you ride, just that you ride. Don't compromise your happiness for others' opinions, in motorcycles and in life!
