Well im 36 weeks and 2 days pregnant, and I would like to know if spotting in pregnancy normal. This is what happened, I went to the bathroom, and after I used it, I had wiped and it was a couple spots of blood, then I wiped again and it happened again, but the third time I wiped it was gone. Now I am having cramps in my stomach, and I'm worried is this Normal or what?

Spotting can happen toward the end of the pregnancy when you lose your mucus plug (that plugs up the cervix). It could also be a result of the sex because you tend to be drier because of hormones during pregnancy and it's easier to become irritated and bleed. Best to call your doctor though. Don't take a chance with your life and the life of your baby.

That didn't happen to me. I had sex right up 'till the end with both pregnancies, (37 and 38 weeks). It sounds like it might be your "show", which is when the mucus membrane comes away from your cervix, (I think!). The fact that you're cramping and have had a show, leads me to believe that you may be in the early stages of labor- I'd either see your Doctor or go to the hospital, sooner rather than later! The tissue in your cervix is probably softening to prepare for labor and sex may have torn something. I would call your 24 hr number at your doc office and talk to the on call nurse. All doc offices have some kind of answering service. Call the main number you always call and an after hours machine or person will answer. Good Luck!

Is it possible you are in labor? I had spotting and cramping when I went into labor. My contractions were rather far apart and they told me not to come into the hospital yet. But then I called back and told them that now I was spotting and they had me come right in. I think you should call your doc.

I know its gross but check and make sure its vaginal bleeding.. sometimes the rectum will bleed from pressure or straining.. Couldn't hurt

you are pretty close to full term so this could mean you are close to having the baby. i would go to the ER to make sure its ok

sex at the end of pregnancy made me bleed. but it could also be your show? was it mucusy/slimy?
