Kevin-K I have to disagree with you. If pot was just as difficult to produce as alcohol or tobacco is, it would probably be legal to. As some one stated in an earlier post you can grow miss Maryjane anywhere. Dry it out in the micro wave, oven or naturally. crumble it up and smoke it out of just about anything. Unlike the difficult process of producing your own alcohol which will taste bad your first couple of times and might actually have a fatal effect from your inexperienced first batch.
having done them both for a long period of time (but haven't done either for over 12 years now). I have to say they are both bad for you. your argument about which is worse is irrelevant. the government wont legalize pot because they wouldn't profit off of it. as some one also stated earlier and is true. big brother makes more money off of you by throwing you in jail for possession of paraphernalia then they would if they made it legal and taxed it.

Here in Canada the government has decriminalized the posession of marijuana. It's still illegal to cultivate it and sell it.
Decriminalizing something doesn't make it legal, it's just not illegal.

Having said that......I've tried both......heck, I've tried both frequently since about 1967. In my opinion, marijuana is far more acceptable and a whole lot cheaper.

How many times have you heard of someone going into a drunken rage and beat the tar outta someone else?
You never hear that about someone who smoked.

Thats because if marij was legal the governtment would not be able to make any money off of it. Marijuana is a plant which means if you have the seeds you can grow it just about anywhere you want. The govt. wouldnt be able to control where it was being grown and they wouldnt know where thats why they make it illegal cause they make no profit off of a natural herb.

Its funny though, you hear more people die due to drunk drivers then you do high drivers. Its all a giimmick if they cant make no money they dont want a part of it

Because alcohol has set limits as to the alcohol content. The laws are set and the brewers/distillers must comply.

You never know how much THC you're getting with marijuana, especially with crossbreeding and hybrids.

I totally agree it doesn't make sense. Alcohol does more damage than what marijuana does. They should definetely legalise it and for those who are against well then don't smoke it. I say don't judge it until you've tried it... it's great.

I hear ya, luckily some states are passing laws that allow it for "medicinal purposes", like migraines, glaucoma, arthritis, etc. Where do you live?

Weed has no calories nor those nasty side effects to the liver. And now-a-days if you use a vaporizor you are eliminating the need to smoke it and thereby preserve your lungs.

But anything taken too much is never gonna be good for ya so moderation is key if ya gonna do it.

It doesn't make sense. Marijuana is much better for you than alcohol. No one hears of anyone dying from weed, and there are drunk drivers but there aren't high drivers. Weed should be legalized. They don't want to because of the economics of it. And because they suck.

alcohol was illegal at one point but people were dying because they were trying to create it in their homes. It will be tough to legalize marijuana because the government profits off of prisoners in jail--and of course, a great portion of prisoners are drug users/dealers.

Alcohol is taxed, but it would have to be legalised first before marijuana is taxed.

peanuts got the right idea. but its not so much the government wanting tax dollars -they could figure out a way to get their hands in our pockets on that 1 too- but the pharmaceutical companies that r so against legalization.
