one thing that helps is keeping a journal. its someone to talk to and you can look back at situations you were in before and see how you handled it and whether or not it worked. Be a pen pal. having letters in your mail box from a friend back home is something to come home for at the end of the day. making new friends in a strange country where there are language and cultural differences than what your used to can be hard but rewarding. by having them your giving them a chance to learn and grow from you as you are learning about them and this new culture your in. Volunteer work is another great one. Perhaps helping at the local library or school. Kids (especially) like to meet people who can tell them stories of places they might never know much about otherwise. there are so many was to keep busy, and the busier you are the more people you'll meet. You have a better chance to make that friend you need if you give yourself a good selection to choose from. get out there and say hi, to any one. smile, it increases your face value!

loneliness is a curse. but it is when you feel so. and one feels so when is repenting.

hey, keep yourself busy. you may talk as much your pocket permits to your kins quite often and visit them at least twice a year if not frequently.

writing letters, in today's world(?) is the best medicine to kill loneliness. listen to music. And cry when you feel like. it helps.

if you believe in God. Pray and Meditate. nothing better than that.

Think about what you have to come back too if you have someone. If you do not, why not find a pretty little girl with a bow in her hair and write to her while you are over seas.
