A. Helping a child too much does not encourage the child to be a self-starter; instead, it causes the child to rely on the parent as the authority and does not take authorship of his or her actions/successes/failures as a result.

Depending on what you mean by "criticizing a child", "D" could be false. Telling a kid that s/he's done wrong, and explaining why it's wrong is a necessary part of teaching. Simply saying, "You're stupid," is both false and detrimental to the kid's self-esteem.
"A", however, is definitely false.

I could debate each one of those, except B -- I would say that's definitely true. It is an important factor. But the other three items are all debatable. I guess you need to give whatever the expected pat answer is based on your text book... start reviewing that unit. I'm sure you'll find the rote answer for this rote, recall test. If you really want to be successful, challenge yourself to challenge this question with your professor. I would say there's only one possibly true answer (B) and the others are questionable/debatable.

They're all false
Self-esteem is the result of actions, not a goal in-and-of-itself.
