I have a black & decker and a skill. Both 9.6v. The batteries look identical except for the name of course. Is it safe to use a charger from one or the other instead of 2 differant chargers? Will it be safe to use the batteries in the opposite drill?

Check the milliamp rating on the batteries and the chargers and compare them. If they fall in the same ranges then it should be find. Also, of course, make sure the + and - poles are on the same sides of both.

These things are deceiving. Batteries and charger cubes may look the same but are really not compatible due to different voltage and milliamp ratings. I advice NOT unless you made certain both inputs and outputs are identical.
