Try to get her to at least hold liquids and small amounts of food at a time. If she becomes dehydrated she will need to seek medical attention. Ask the dr for if he would be willing to give her Promethazine or Phenergan for starters. This medication is safe for pregnancy and it does come in a pill and suppository. (not that expiensive) If that still does not work, they may give her a medication that is used for cancer patients nausea. It's called zofram. ( Oh, this is about 50.00 a pill ) Unless you have insurance. Morning sickness is a good sign, it just makes you feel weak and your guts can hurt if you throw up alot like I did. Goodluck and I hope this will pass for you. I would never wish what I went thru on anyone.

Morning sickness seems to be aggravated by stress, traveling, and certain foods high in protein and fat. To lessen the symptoms, eating small meals several times a day may help. A diet high in complex carbohydrates (such as whole wheat bread, pasta, bananas, and green, leafy vegetables) may also help reduce the severity of the nausea.

If vomiting is severe, causing a woman to lose fluids and weight, it may indicate a condition called hyperemesis gravidarum. Hyperemesis can lead to dehydration and may require hospitalization for intravenous fluids and nutrition. Call your physician if you are having constant or severe nausea and vomiting.

My friend had this problem. Her doc told her to try eating Kid's Cuisine dinners and take Flintstone chewables instead of regular prenatal vitamins. He said that even if she only keeps the food down for a few minutes, the baby is still getting something from it. Have her check with OB/GYN also, just to be on the safe side.

Morning sickness is normal, but not being able to stomach anything, might not be. I'd get her to go to the doctors asap just to be on the safe side.

I would have her go see her OB ASAP. There are meds they can give her for extreme morning sickness. Also it could be an underlying problem.

I had terrible morning sickness with my first daughter.

I just had my third... OMG... I WAS SOOOOOOO sick.. It is normal. Don't eat greasy foods. Try dry crackers before getting OUT of bed. Mints seem to help calm my tummy down. It was worse when I had my girls, and less when I had my son.

Its normal.
