We have a friendly aganst Holland next month. Is this the best starting 11?

Paul Robinson; Gary Neville, Rio Ferdinand, John Terry, Ashley Cole; Aaron Lennon, Gerrard, Hargreaves, Joe Cole; Rooney and Andrew Johnson.

Forget your club for a minute. Think of your country.

Hargreaves is recovering from a broken leg so would probably no be fit in time. Lennon is also injured and I'm not sure if he'll be back (though I would put them in given a choice). Joe Cole is currently injured though he may be back...

I'd go for:

Robinson (some faults in the last game but saved us from a battering)
G Neville (Johnson is nowhere near international standard yet)
A Cole (Poor game against Croatia but still probably our first choice if fit)
R Ferdinand (Ledley King was a good stand-in but Rio is (usually) more composed)
J Terry (Lacks pace but makes up for most of it in grit and determination)
S Wright-Philips (With Lennon probably injured, has shown some flashes and deserves a chance to be the new No. 2)
M Carrick (Hasn't really shone yet but he has it in him and its a friendly - has worked well with Scholes so may dove-tail well with...)
S Gerrard (Forget Frank, Stevie G is more of a threat to the goal, doesn't give up and knows how to tackle/pass etc.!)
K Richardson (If Joe Cole is injured, probably a bit more reliable than Downing though I think Downing has long term potential)
W Rooney (He's not been on top form but he was more of a threat to the Croatian goal than the Beanpole. Is recovering his form and still young enough to be the future up front)
A Johnson (Was gutted for him that he pulled a hamstring before the last 2 games, but has pace, is decent in the air for his height and now he's at Everton has looked like he could make the step-up to international) - would like to see D Ashton given a shot once fit if he rediscovers the form of the FA Cup final

Subs:
Carson/Kirkland/Foster (give them some game time, its a friendly)
W Brown (if fit and concentrating, has been one of the better centre-backs ahead of the slow and out-of-his-depth Carragher)
S Parker (was anonymous against Croatia in a 5 but better suited to a 4-man midfield without Lampard)
D Bent (again, needs some game time to get a chance)
Subs as above if others fit...

CB - Jamie Carragher
LM - Joe Cole
RM - Aaron Lennon
CM - Owen Hargreaves
CM - Steven Gerrard
ST - Peter Crouch
ST - Andrew Johnson

Subs

GK - Scott Carson
Def - Rio Ferdinand
Def - Ledley King
Mid - Shaun Wright-Phillips
Mid - Framk Lampard
Mid - Michael Carrick
St - Wayne Rooney
St - Darren Bent

This is a OK line up, as long as all the players are available, as I see you have got Owen Hargreaves, Aaron Lennon & Joe Cole on your team, it was only on the 16th September 2006 that Owen broke the Fibula in his left leg. In theory it would be great if he was fully fit, also Joe has been out since hurting his right knee during the pre season tour in America, but I believe Aaron is back now after his injury. So those are the only worries at the moment.

Assuming they're all fit, it's probably the starting line up I'd go for - geting rid of the out of form Lampard is a brave but good decision. I've never thought that Downing and Crouch are good enough to be playing at international level, and welcome back a fit Joe Cole and the inclusion of Andy Johnson. As proved in the world cup, Lennon causes defenders a problem, and he also gives the team some much lacked width.
Despite the mistake on Weds, Robinson is still the best keeper for my money - I just can't bring myself to trust James or Green in goal, and until Kirkland proves he can be fit for 5 games in a row, it would be best not to pin any hopes on him.

on the 2d, England according to probability finding stable (attempting to ignore what occurred in Stanford 20-20). whether it extremely is in basic terms a quick era; England performed goo cricket infrequently for a month and easily against one team. How can somebody crown them the subsequent suited team? The Ashes is around the corner. that's whilst the real try starts.

Sounds cool but I think Glen Johnson shall replace the old and out G Neville. Also, I'm a little doubtful if the Rooney/AJ pair could make the spark... maybe a Rooney/Bent pair could bang up more...

Personally I would put 3/4 on the scrap heap and start again. You have certain players who should be there but the majority, IMHO, should not.
