Well, in the middle ages and up until about 75 years ago, women used rags. Thats where the term "on the rag" came from. many women still use cloth pads. Glad Rags is one such name brand.

Cave women probably had very few periods, as there was no method of birth control and they all breastfed their babies which, done exclusively, causes a delay in the return of fertility.

My grandmother and mother told us that when they were young they would use old linens or cloths cut into squares and folded for pads. I'm sure in the stone age they probably used furs or hide from the animals they killed.

I guess nappies,as far as i would think unsure of stone age as they wouldnt of had cloth or maybe they used animals hide?

They we're banished to a cave for their menstrual so that men wouldn't have to deal with it.

They used men's hankerchiefs and afterwards the men would blow thier nose with it.....They called it a mensblowtration
