We need a new change. One that is free from the controls of large corporations. We need to destroy their power and we can because we control their means of profit. We could rebuild a democratic society without poverty, without war, and only without will it be possilbe capitalism.

That's why you need to vote out incumbents until we get people who will work for legal Americans. Lobbyists need to go. Cooperation's pay them half a million a year to buy votes. Legislation needs to be posted at least 72 hours before a vote, No more making the excuse they didn't read it. We need an open records law for the legislature. We need the posting of lawmakers expenditures, salary and benefits information on line. Stop all forms of unvouchered expenses. Make health care insurance benefits equal with the private sector. Put limits on campaign spending so we actually have a choice and not just another millionaire picked by the party. Vote, vote , vote until we get a government of the people, by the people, and for the people.

What you are suggesting smells a lot like communism. If that is the government you are choosing, I am sure there is a country or two that will take in one more as a citizen.

Me? While I don't agree with the control big business has on the political system, the cure to that is to abolish corporate "sponsorships" of candidates - or maybe set a dollar amount that one contribution can be for. Creating a communist government isn't the answer.

Voting is the only time that the common man has to participate in government. I don't agree with the control of corporate profits. You have some noble ideas, but it is in human nature that poverty and wars will happen, history tells us this. Those in power want to keep that power, and those with no power will always resent those that have it.

You probably should move to Cuba where it is the government rather than corporations that have the power.

When more than 50 percent of the voters who comprise the electorate stay home on election day it doesn't matter who controls things. The voters have given up that power.

I would rather have it controlled by the corporations than by the government, but if you don't vote you are letting anyone who is willing to take it have the power.

Useless....it is not possible practically...because those who have money with themselves try to buy everything evn the humanity...and there are people poor enough who can sell their humanity....so poverty remains in its own place, war never ends and peace will never exist all over the world even for a single instance.

Actually, voting is pointless when the state governments have gerrymandered all the congressional districts so that the incumbents always win. After all, an election is much too important at thing to leave up to the voters.

Yes. Don't even bother voting. Bush and other presidents are elected ONLY by THIS secret and evil group that's been in control of everything for far too long!...

Businessmen should not be allowed to have an influence on the politicians. Report those whose contributions to campaign funds are illegal in order to curb this kind of political atmosphere.

Disagree
Voting is the moment when you, and not the corporations are in charge! Just don't let yourself be fooled by advertisement
