Having been to Yellowstone 2 different occasions, I find it hard to believe that with all the hot water springs around. There is nowhere to find a hotspring or a pool that is suited or made for public bathing. Can anyone tell us what the reason for this may be?

answeres are coming back saying too much sulpher content etc. We here in the interior of B.C. Canada have numerous hotsprings and most of them are sulpher content and are ok for bathing. Some are too hot and are cooled by adding cold water and about a 1/3 of them are commercialized for public use the rest are used in their wild state and most are accessible by hiking to them. So I cannot see why such a vast area such as Yellowstone cannot commercialize some of this hot water for public bathing

It's likely because of the high sulfur content or the geothermal energy found in the hot water springs.

You might get a little more of a hot bath than you bargained for if you were able to take a dip in the hot springs. You could wind up being boiled like an egg.

Possibly because the park is pretty much a super volcano. The springs might be too hot. I'm sure there is a legitimate reason for that.
