I don't think so.
You would probably have more luck putting an ad on Craigslist or the newspaper.

I absolutely despise the Petcos here. They never take the animals to the vet when needed, and I've called animal control on them several times (and yes, the problem was supposedly fixed a few days after animal control came). In LA county, we have grades for the pet stores. Petsmart here ALWAYS has an A, keeps the place clean, has several rats that are actually socialized, and are very friendly. The Petco almost always has a B grade. It depends on the difference between the two stores in your area, though. I've seen some Petcos that are ok, and some Petsmarts that are not that great.

Not sure about Petco, but I know Petsmart won't. Tried giving them some african cichlids-I didn't even want a store credit, wouldn't take them. Their company policy was they would only get their animals from their wholesalers. Like mentioned, try a mom and pop store, and as also mentioned, be careful it won't be snake food. Try putting an ad in the paper, at least you can get a feel for what the person's intentions are that is taking it.

Usually Petco will quarantine a new animal for 2 weeks, then they will put the animal up for adoption. Unfortuneatly, if the animal isn't adopted in a certain amount of time, the animal will be killed.
I have adopted guinea pigs from Petco before. The biggest problem that I had was that the animals were not healthy.

I do not think Petco buys animals from people. I think Petco functions a little bit like a no kill animal shelter. They are in the business of rescuing animals and finding them new homes.

humane society. petco and petsmart do not accept animals from people! and they DO NOT kill animals. unless they absolutely can NOT be cured. i adopted a hamster from petsmart because it had an inner ear infection so bad that once it was cured he still had a bad "tilt" to him. i love that ******.

You could try but you may do better with a Mom & Pop pet store.
