Ghosts don't actually exist, you know that, don't you?

There are plenty of things scarier than ghosts. For instance, evil people: the psychotically religious, mass murderers, terrorists, and others who hate you enough to want to murder you.

Ever see the movie "The Killing Fields"? What would be really scary would be being in a situation like that, trapped in an ultra-violent regime doing hard labor while starving where people all around you are being killed for the slightest infractions, or for no reason at all.

Imagine being a Jew stuck in a concentration camp in WWII Germany. People being murdered by the thousands all around you, and you know it's only a matter of time before you're next.

Trust me, there are PLENTY of things scarier than ghosts. Actually, that's why I've never been much of a fan of Stephen King stories: he relies on the supernatural in almost all his stories to scare people. But the supernatural is just imaginary. Evil humans are for real, and some humans can be far more evil than any ghost.

Ghosts are the mysterious shadowy apprarations that indicate either a deceased person's energy is around. Ghosts are non-violent and either don't mind being where they are: between our physical world and beyond or only their "energy" is seen, played over and over like a video recording. Ghosts have NEVER hurt anyone.

Poltergeists, however, are trapped angry spirits that not only want to move on, but they've mastered the art of manulipating objects to get their point across. There have been some documented cases where they've even scratched people--but that's pretty much the extent of it. And yes: they CAN follow people around.

Pure hearted devout priests or experienced demonologists can help the trapped spirit move on and no longer be a problem to the living.

But if it's a mere ghost that resides in your home and has brought no physical harm--why not let them be where you and they can co-exist?

yes ofcourse, the scariest thing than ghost is the man himself.
Appearing of ghosts, throwing the things away is all out of the man's imaginations. there are nothing like ghosts.
If something fell due to air or by contact with your dress or by some other reason, without your brain detecting it, then the person would think that a ghost has thrown it away.
The ghost is created by man's imagination and nothing else. there are much scarier things than ghost. Just imagine the people who survived out the recent Tsunami. they were at the death steps.
Our fear is the scariest thing. Nothing else.

Personally, the only thing that I would ever be afraid of is knowing that you are going insane. Notice though, that I didn't say "being insane", but "knowing that you are going insane", as there is a HUGE difference there.

Being a prisoner to your own mind, trapped in a body controlled by someone who cannot control themself... THAT is something to fear. Everything that goes on around you in life no matter how chaotic, can always be controlled to a degree by your control of yourself. You control how afraid you become. You control how far you are willing to go in a given situation.

However, when you are insane, you have very little control over yourself, if any at all. Knowing you are going insane, is knowing that "you" may not even exist tommorow, a few hours from now, or even 10 seconds from now.... "You" only exist until whatever insanity has overtaken "you" kicks in again, and "you" can never be sure as to whether or not "you" will ever return. "You" may even be stuck watching yourself from inside, doing things that would be trully unspeakable, and not be able to do anything about it. And, as the horrors of what you are doing sink in, along with the realization that you may do it over and over again, powerless to stop, the "you" that is watching, sanely attempting to cope with the insanity of what has happened...what will happen... "you" will slowly go insane as well.....

To me... THAT is the scariest thing ever.

I used to think ghosts were the scariest thing ever (from watching horror movies), but then I experienced something scarier. It was, believe it or not, a force of nature.

I climbed the volcano Etna when it was slightly active. It was shaking and grumbling under my feet and I was slightly scared, but I went on. When I reached the edge of the crater, I looked inside and saw the hellish pit with small bursts of lava shooting out. I froze. I felt like I was already dead. It was beyond fear, it was complete and perfect terror before something you can't fight or reason with.

Yes,when you die and stand in front of the almighty on your judgement day and don't have a good enough answer for him when he asks " Why should I let you into my kingdom?" That's not the scary part, the scary part is when he says "I don"t know you" and that's enough to send you away. That's scarier than anything I can think of because the only other place to be is Hell. There is no water in hell!

Yes. Remember that seeing is believing, but believeing is seeing. By this i mean that you only see what you believe in...And by saying ghost you're only picturing them as evil, that ghost could be a relative looking for jsutice......

We should all be scared of our government no matter where we are. Ghosts can't really harm you , but our government has the power to kill us though he's not in our presence... (Causing world war rather than negotiating and jsutifying the situation first....

In the newer Dungeons & Dragons game, "ghost" is a template that can be applied to any other creature, stacking its ghostly powers with those of its original form, with only minor reductions for ghostliness. For example, a ghost of a hell hound, a ghost of a 14th level sorcerer, a ghost of an ancient red dragon. See, things could get much worse...

Yes, there are things that are more scarier than a ghost in front of you. And that would be humans. Humans kill animals, cut down trees, and even murder their own spicies.
