Would you be missed? The point is to this is that I wish my dad never lived and by doing that...of course, that means I wish that I had not been born. So, as I thought about it....I wonder, am I making a difference, or not?

The reason I wish he was not born is that he forced himself on my mom before she was married to him, and he used to beat me up a lot, and he finally left, but then we were so poor that we actually did not have food in the house to eat.

I see fathers with their sons...five or six years old, and they hold them and play with them and love them.

Dad used to beat me when I was their age, and I often wonder....what could I have done to have made him hate me so much?

life just goes on... it doesnt wait for some one.
If ur dad never lived then it would make a difference to ur mom and u. except u people no other single person would feel the difference.
u will be missed if u do some thing good to the person. Take example of Mother Teresa. She served so many people. The people who didnt get her service also miss her. Because of the deeds she did.
Take example of Bin Laden. He caused so many to die. If he was not born, think how happy it would have been.
You will be missed, if u do good to people around u. help here doesnot mean related to money only.
u r distressed by ur fathers behaviour, so u think in that way. if ur father was good, then u would have never thought like that. if Newton never slept below the apple tree and if the apple never fell on him then the world would not have known the gravity.
Be positive and think that everything that happens to a person is for his own benefit.
Try to be good and spread the happiness

The world, I think, would probably be much the same without me. I think I would be missed if I died tomorrow, but of course, not if I hadn't been born in the first place. I've donated enough blood in my lifetime (a few gallons) that I've probably saved at least one life, though.

Why do you wish your dad had never existed? Sounds like you two have some issues you need to work out, especially since by extension you also wish you had never existed.

There's a saying about optimists & pessimists. It's said that when an optimist dies, he fears the world will end without him. The pessimist, fears that it won't.

Do you not see many people spoiling beautiful flowers in a garden ?
What harm did the flowers do ? No reply to such questions really.
But a human being can bounce back to life , unlike the spoiled flower ! I would start wondering how poor I would be without this rich experience of life, and then try to live fully every moment of life. The world without me.... there are tons of history books to prove that it could go on very well without me, and could even sustain me ! It is upto me to take what the world has to offer so generously, a rich experience of life, with all the drama in it !
You will never have to regret for the past if you decide to enrich yourself from its experience !

First know that you are so special in God's eyes as well others may come in your future life that will make you feel that way. Your dad had issues and pains internally that had nothing to do with you. Your birth and existence has a purpose, if nothing else think of a lifetime of people that could cross your path that you could aide or make feel special as well. Do not pity yourself and remember there is always someone that has suffered more than you and don't wish your dad bad things, be more of a man than him and get on with your life, peace..

I don't agree with your premise that by wishing your dad had never lived means you wish you hadn't been born. You just wish he hadn't been YOUR dad. They don't show "details" here, but as I recall, you said something about what you might have done to make him so angry? Nothing. He sounds like an angry man, period. Of COURSE you make a difference! You just made a difference to me, by the way I responded to your question when I saw it. How sad. We make a difference every day of our lives. I've often thought that after I'm gone, there'll be a sort of "echo" of me for a very long time, if not forever. Just think of how--when you smile at someone, & then they smile at someone else, & there's a kind of "chain reaction" that long after the happening seems forgotten, still exists. That may seem "loopy," but it feels nice. We learn so much from each other in big & little ways--& pass it on to others who pass it on--so that we leave a "ripple" of ourselves, threads of our fabric...we can't help but make a difference! Hopefully, a very nice difference! Not like your father.
I thought it so poignant, (as I started out--disagreeing with your premise), & so often, we feel somehow to blame for being treated badly! I do hope you get past that! My mother was--oh--mentally ill. I felt diminutive, worthless for much of my life until I realized with a lot of introspection, that I'd allowed her treatment of me to influence what I thought of myself. What a freeing experience. Yes--you WILL be missed!

If I weren't here who knows what kind of owner my little dogs would have and the food and treats and love would surely not be as good.

just think how you can chose to be the difference with such knowledge your life won't have to go to the dogs and you can take first hand accounts and reach out in many ways
