how did the noumber 13 become superstitious

I know if you read the book "The DaVinci Code" it explains its origin. It has to do with Friday the 13th being the bloodiest day in a surprise attack that the Pope incited between the Catholic Church and the Knights Templar, in which many Knights were killed, sometime during the Middle Ages in Europe.

i was told its because jesus dies on the 13 and it was friday. also a lot of other things that happend on that day
