Can anyone tell me what this means as I have no idea. Also my MCV and MCH were low. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

ALT and AST testing is done to find if you have possible damage to the liver, and as for the MCV and MCH, this is the measuring of the volume of red blood cells in the blood, and yours is low. There is a problem as is indicated by the abnormal critically high test and low test results. I hope this helps, but you should discuss the test results with your physician ASAP to determine what is wrong.

AST and ALT are liver enzymes and this means your liver is sick. It could be hepatitis from infection, it could be from drugs like Tylenol. Usually it is from alcohol. MCV and MCH relate to the size of your red blood cell and have to be interpreted in the context of the other test values.

Your doctor will be more than happy to explain it to you. Just ask. Don't be shy.
