Check to see if you're getting fire to the distributor. If you are, the only other possibilities are a bad module, a bad pick up coil in the distributor or a bad coil wire. Check for power to the distributor while cranking the engine over. You didn't say that you replaced the dist pick-up coil. I would suspect that. You can check continuity of the coil with a DVOM.
Hope this helps.

Is power getting through the coil?

Check the pick-up coil (under the rotor) with an ohm meter, it should be near zero ohm's. If not it needs to be replaced.

Possibly the coil. If it is like the 1984's & mounted by the passenger side rocker cover, they cost around $20.00

If you have power to the coil but no spark, the coil is probably bad.

First clue-you ran out of gas. You may have sucked in the trash at the bottom of the tank. You need to disconnect the fuel line at the tank and at the fuel filter and blow air through it and make sure it is clear. If you still have the problem you may have to remove the tank and have it cleaned at the local radiator shop.
