Yes. He had to move back to Virginia hoping to work in a factory in his hometown. When he got there, the factory was outsourced to Asia. He was told by a recruiter that if he signed up, his family would be taken care of and he could finish his education. Then 911 happened. We all supported him and sent him letters and stuff from home. He was proud to be there fighting. Then somehow he wound up in Iraq. Fallujah to be exact. He also found out that his family wasn't being taken care of. He was told several times that he would get to come home, but his leave kept getting pushed back. Finally when he did get to come home, he couldn't stay for long. He got six months of leave time and got sent back to Iraq. His wife had his first child while he was in Iraq. She couldn't take the pressure of having to raise the child and deal with all the problems at home. She gave the kid to his mother and left. He's trying to deal with raising his daughter now and make a living.

Have had two friends, one nephew in Iraq. One of the friends is going back for his second tour. I also have a Niece over there now. Haven't talked to her about it yet. My friends tell me the war and what the major news in America shows are not even close. Kind of like planes, the news only wants to talk about the one that crashes, not the thousand that land safe. Not to mention they are not going to report anything that might reflect favorably on the present administration

My friends father has been in Iraq since the very beginning. He has been in the military for over 25 years, and is still going strong. We get to see him and seems to be doing great. It is scary, but after a while, you kind of get used to it I guess...
