Cold air intake and high flow exhaust. A dealer wont do anything about it. When mine had 500 miles on it I cut off exhaust from the y-pipe and just ran a straight pipe on it. The dealer never said two words about it. You could also try a programmer and just take it off before you go in for service. Or you could go to a GM Performance dealer and have them modify your truck. The good thing about a diesel is the potential.

No power in a diesel without 30 gears behind it. Get used to being last at the drag race. Get used to gas engine pickups outrunning you uphill, pulling twice the load. Get used to seeing the tail lights Of wimpy little cars outdistancing you. U bought the diesel myth.........Now you gotta live with it. I own a '71 one ton 2wd chevy PU. 4 bolt mainbearing 350cu in smallblock. 4 speed Muncie tranny. Makes 325 hp at 6,000 rpm. My useful rpm curve is between 1,800 and 6,000. Your useful rpm curve is between 1,000 and 3,000. I'll smoke you in second gear! Top end may be about the same unloaded..........mine does 124mph. I get there in about half a mile or less, yours takes a mile or more to go that fast. I can tow 8,000 lb at 90mph. I can tow the same up a 6% grade at 60mph while U doing 30. I can stay in 4th gear while U in second on the same hill. I get 19 mpg empty and 13mpg pulling 8,000 lb. Yer diesel stinks and clatters.........My Hooker headers say don't mess with this chevy. Your diesel smoke says easy win to anyone with a gasoline engine. I'm sorry U bought a diesel........your fuel prices higher than mine. I see no advantages to a diesel and a lot of drawbacks. Trade it in on a REAL pickup with a gasoline engine if you want power. Forget fuel injection and get one with a carburetor. Newer is not better or faster. Mid 60's cars and pickups had lots more power and about the same gas mileage as smaller, lighter cars today. I had a big block 394 '64 Olds that weighed 5.600 lb and would do 135mph stock........... It got 19 mpg on leaded premium. Beat that with yer diesel!
