I heard this Quote in a movie recently and can not remember the author or even what movie it was from. I hope it stuck out in someone elses head too! I know I did not get it word for word but this should be really really close! Thanks everyone...

It's in the movie Contact, and the quote is referring to Occam's Razor

Occam's Razor is correct - the two previous answerers are correct, the movie is "Contact" starring Jodi Foster! Great movie! I am still uncertain whether Jodi Fosters' character actually did travel in space, or inner space, or if it was a kind of out of body experience. It is simply left to the viewer, as I understand it.
Carl Sagen was a man way ahead of his time - he died just before the movie was finished, and aired. (The author of the book, which the movie was based on.)

The quotation is attributed to William of Ockham, who lived in the fourteenth century. It was used in the movie "Contact." I don't know about other movies.
