Just any four numbers within the range? Here's an easy approach, also useful when you take your SAT in the future. Since 1/2 = 0.5 and 3/4 = 0.75, I'll pick four random numbers (for my convenience, I'll pick "clean" numbers) between 0.5 and 0.75: 0.6,0.625,0.66... (repeating) and 0.7.

Now, convert 0.6, 0.625,0.66... and 0.7 back into fractions:

0.6 = 6/10=3/5
0.625 = 625/1000=125/200=25/40=5/8
0.66.... = 2/3 (you should know that)
0.7 = 7/10

There you have it, 3/5, 5/8, 2/3 and 7/10.

Basically you need to find four fractions which are between 1/2 and 3/4.

so first of all you need to understand that...
1/2 = 2/4 = 3/6 = 4/8 = 5/10 = etc.
you can change any fraction to many different fractions and it will still equal the same amount. 2-over-4 (2/4) is still the same as 1-over-2 (1/2).

At the moment it isn't obvious what is between 1/2 and 3/4 because they have different bottom numbers (denominators... but you wont learn that till later). Make them the same...
2/4 , 3/4
there is nothing we can see between them, so change the bottom number again by multiplying (times, x) it by 2. what you do to the top you must do to the bottom.
4/8 , 6/8
there are only 2 fractions between that with 8 at the bottom, so change it again... multiply by two
8/16 , 12/16
now there are four... 8/16, 9/16, 10/16, 11/16. this is the answer

1/1=8/8 1/2= 4/8 3/4=6/8

4/8<5/8<6/8

Since you said it must be between 1/2 and 3/4, which also means between 4/8 and 6/8, and there are only three possible sizes for the guitar.

I just started with denominators 3, 4, 5, etc. and determined which numerators would fall in that range.

To make sure a fraction p/q > 1/2, cross-multiply, and make sure that 2p > q.

To make sure that p/q < 3/4, cross-multiply again, and make sure that 4p < 3q.
