I've had my eMachine notebook for 2 years and I'm very pleased with it. It cost net $400 (after rebate). It has a large screen so it's ideal as my primary computer. It has 512MB RAM and a 60GB hard drive. The only drawback is that the large screen makes it relatively heavy for a portable. I also have had two eMachine desktops that I have had no problems with.

Toshiba no longer a super product, Asus and Acer are reliable different than no longer toughness, Dell product are the two reliable and undesirable and Fujitsu are additionally reliable rank at the back of Lenovo. Get Intel as AMD has a tendency to be old rapid.
