i don't think that a guy shaving his armpits=GAY. some hairy armpits are sexy some are just ugly. as a gay man someone can be very good looking but long hairs sticking out of the arm pits is just not atractive. its like tatoos some ppl look good with them some ppl should have taken the money and used it for plastic surgery.

Historically the sign of masculinity is body hair, so a woman with a huge amount of body hair is seen as masculine, thus a man without ample body hair, facial hair or underarm hair is considered feminine. I know some European cultures the women do not shave, and of course having grown up in an American culture I see this as disgusting and find it unattractive. But myself I still won't shave my arms or legs. I have been known to shave other areas only for comfort in the heat of summer but that is another matter altogether. Well, I guess personal preference plays lots in the debate of whether to shave or not, I would not date a girl with hair anywhere it is not culturally acceptable to have hair. Guys I see the point if it looks like a girly thing to do don't do it.

That's a stereotype. I believe swimmers shave their armpits since they also shave their legs. Hair causes resistance in the water so usually serious swimmers, male or female, will shave their legs, armpits, and whatever else they want to shave off.

Im gay and I dont shave my armpits. Im a hairy guy, my experience is where you shave, the hair gets thicker and getting rid of smaller hair makes it worse(depends where). So whats so hygenie about it? doesnt it make sweat drip and be noticeable more?

I wouldn't say that a guy who shaves his armpits is gay....
I mean swimmers shave their whole bodies. It could also be a hygene thing....I mean arm pits sweat...sweat grows bacteria.....the bacteria clings to the arm pit hair....thats just discusinng writing it.
Maybe you should ask why before you jump to conclusions.

not too sure about the whole shaving thing. it is seen gross if women dont shave their legs but they are able to have hair on their arms without being gross? i dont understand where it all came from??? why do we even shave our legs to be feminine? i dont think you should have a prob with him shaving his arm pits i mean it is a little weird but maybe he just does it for hygeine. Im sure the first girl to ever shave her legs was considered weird once too. You should just look at it as him taking care of his body!

in no way is it gay..swimmers do it..n some guys have way too much body hair anyway..it's like the guy with a wooly mammoth on his back....if he's gonna wear those cut-up wife beaters n stuff...or try to look decent(if it's way too long..or he gets hideously smelly pits)....then trim or shave em...they'll stay a lot cleaner. besides...it's SUPER HARD to get all that Deoderant to the actual armpit when there's that much there..... it'd be like tryin to water a plant through a steel reinforced cube....ain't happenin.....get me? some guys just look better w/o it. not a must tho. n DEFF. NOT GAY!!!

Actually, I don't think it's gay. I've always thought guys should do that. Armpit hair = not appealing. But our society sets certain standards about grooming and hygeine, and we kind of all follow these standards without question. Doesn't make sense half the time.

No!! It helps with your hygiene!! The way a person carries themselves doesn't make them gay or not because some people may be accustomed to certain things and really care about their appearance!!! Too many people base everything on a stereotype and it's really not that serious!! Whatever a person chooses to do or however they choose to be is their business and it's nobody's place to judge them but JESUS himself!!!!!

Maybe yes, and then again, maybe no. Many males shave their armpits, usually because they play sports. They also shave their arms and legs... But if it's just their armpits they shave, then maybe they are implying something...
