no. the only difference is in the comfort level you have with the pick, which varies person to person.

It doesn't really change the sound of the guitar, its just that some are better suited for different styles of playing and different speeds of playing. Since playing the blues, metal, classic rock, grunge, etc requires different picking techniques and speeds, different sizes and gauges exist of picks to not only feel more comfortable but to ease the ability to play that certain way. The sound can change if the material is different sometimes but not with the size.

Size in terms of diameter has no bearing on the sound. However, size in terms of thickness can affect the overall sound; mainly in the attack of the plucked string. The attack meaning the initial sound of the "pluck". Lots of players prefer the heavier picks, including myself. It gives a more definite control, and ends up less sloppy sounding, at least for me.

The pick will change the speed at which you play more than it will change the sound, but it will. For fast lead, I use a super-thin pick. Of cource people prefer to rock out with a thicker pick.

It doesn't change sound quality. The different sizes are designed for personal comfort, although musicians who perform some genres prefer one pick versus another.

No, over all how you attack it changes your sound whether with or without a pick, like whether you play closer to the bridge or the neck or mute it with your palm (sorta gives me a wah effect without the wah) etc....
