How do you know if your water broke?? Early today, after the exam, I was standing in wally world talking to one of my friends and I felt kinda like a gush, but it wasn't much at all. Please tell me that it was just the ky gelly or something. I haven't really leaked that much today, but me and my hubby had sex and afterwards I have been leaking just little a bit. Could that be his *** (SORRY TMI)? Ever since the exam it seems that I have had a little pain down low. Like, I have been cramping more and usch. The exam hurt...could he have stripped my membranes. Would I be spotting?

WOW...poor girl..41 Weeks!!! You must be miserable. I had mine at 40 and even that was too long of a wait..lol.

Anywho,
After exams it is common to leak a little of the KY back out. It is also common to have light spotting and cramps because the cervix is irritated. I would get cramps after all of my exams. And it is also very possible that it is just your husband's ***. When my water broke it was a ton of fluids. The floodgates had opened. It was really really gross and unmistakable. Before I had my baby, I leaked too and thought my water broke and was worried. So, I understand how you feel. But if it makes you feel more at ease, ask your doctor to check you. But good luck with the baby! By the way, Boy or Girl?? ;)

Hi! The gush you felt could be discharge from intimacy. The same thing happened to me late in pregnancy and it was actually a little tinkle trickle (sorry tmi!). But actually that's really common in the end because due to added pressure of the baby it can sometimes make it difficult to control your bladder and I have heard other bodily functions, yuk! Believe me you would definitely know if your water broke! Don't think too much about it. But if you start having any bleeding or pain then you should call your doc or go straight to the hospital. Good Luck!!!

Water breaking could be a little gush or a bit more or ALOT. It is different for every woman. Your water most likely broke and you need to go to the hospital. Having sex afterwards is NOT GOOD, their is a great risk of infection after your water breaks, that why they want you to come in right away. SO GO NOW!

yes call your doctor now asked to be seen a friend of mine had the same thing just a leak her and there and she thought it was discharge. well when she went in for low feotel movement the baby was dead her bag of waters had indeed ruptured babies head was really low blocking the cervix not much could get out.not all ladies waters break with a big gush beleive me not scaring you or anything but this late in pregnancy you need to consult your doctor not the computer oh and yeah my friend water had been ruptured for days she caught and infection from sex they think so no sex if membranes have ruptured good luck to you i hope its not to much longer.

My first child I wasn't sure if my water broke too, I went to the bathroom and couldn't stop peeing. My water had broke it was just a little trickle but contractions didn't start for another few hours. I too have not spotted when I have had my membrane stripped.

with my first son when my water broke it wasn't alot, I called my mom and she said that I probably just peed my pants. six hours later I was leaking still but not much. It was clear but had a glossy look to it. With my second son when my water broke i immediatley went to the doc's the nurse told me it wasn't my water that I just peep my pants. It was only a tiny bit, but when I went in for my check up the next day, it was acctually broke but my babies head corked it. I was actually in labor all that time. I think you should go get checked. Whatever it was or is I hope all works out well for you...good luck.

when your water breaks it fells like a pop like when you crack a nuckle and then its a gush you would know if it broke like you peed but you know you did. you may be having mild labour cramping is labor your water doesnt have to break first and then contractions. I was having contractions for 8hours before my water broke with my son and my water never broke with my daughter but I was in labor for hours before getting on the or table

When in doubt consult your doctor..Its kind of hard to distinguish whether it was your waters or other things...It doesnt always "gush" out and can come out little by little...
See professional help..
Good Luck!
