They will make the first round again but wont go any further.. Its ok i'm a true laker fan for 20 years... But i understand the rebuilding process, if you pay attention to history they usuall win a championship every decade. There just missing one piece of the puzzle... A big man with talent in the middle, and yes the shaq move was the right thing to do.......

They will make the playoffs, a little higher than the 8th spot.

They will get past the first round..

Actually, they never had this good of a chance of going all the way (or close) since the post-Shaq era.

Sasha Vujacic will have a breakout year.
Kwame Brown has learned the Lakers offense better than last year.
Lamar Odom and Kobe Bryant has jelled even more.

But it all comes down to Kwame's performance. He's the X-factor, IMO.

I think they'll slip in with the 7th or 8th seed. They should be a little better than last year, but the west as a whole will be tougher. Minnesota and Houston will push for spots, too, after missing last year. My seeding goes:
1. Dallas
2. San Antonio
3. L.A. Clippers
4. Phoenix
5. Sacramento
6. Houston
7. L.A. Lakers
8. Minnesota
The Nuggets are a mess, and Memphis is out of luck with Gasol out.

My friend, the West is simply too tough with too many talented teams.

The Lakers should make it to the first round but after that? Are they possibly good enough to beat either the Clippers, Nuggets or Suns to advance? And even if they did could they possibly get past either the Mavs or Spurs? It's not likely.

I see my Spurs ending with the terrific checklist in the NBA. we are experienced in the playoffs. we are in a position to play under pressure. If all of us remains healthful, i'm hoping this twelve months is Championship #5!
