about 3 mths ago I had music system installed in my 94 nissan sentra. Shortly after that I had to replace my battery and alternator because my car wouldn't start. I then took out the system and the red wire that ran from the battery to the amp, the amp was only 200watts and the speakes where 10s. I removed them all except for a white and blue wire that was attacked to my radio system that came with my car and now 3 months later my car want start again and it is showing the same signs as the first time. I am a female with kids, I now very little about cars but I need to learn and i need my car for my children.

I would say that the best thing you could do, provided you had the system installed porfessionally and have the service receipt.... Is to go back to the installer and ask them what went wrong. Also be sure to check the battery, if that is not the main problem, then the stereo is draining your power and the technician who installed the system should fix it..... I would make sure they do it free of charge too.

Since you have already replaced the battery and alternator and the car is having the same issue, see the installer immediately. They are responsible for their work and a reputable one should take care of the problem. Good luck.

LOL, you are so funny. Who ever installed your new stereo hooked up a wire that drained your battery, then you obviously took it to someone that charged you for a new alternator, cost up to a grand for a new one. LOL. You must really like that guy. All you did was blow a fuse somewhere, and the $10 dollar reverse diode blew. Fix that, and all will work well. To test what I say, just get a mechanic that isn't out for money from a lady that is in need of honest help. Walmart works, ABC news would eat it up, if you are legitament. I'm a guy, and raised my baby from one y/o till 18, and now she's 25, and so smart and so beautiful, but I never allow her to open the hood of a motor vehicle. My advice is to pay for it to get fixed, and don't allow your friend to install anything else. He obviously doesn't know that there are 'resistors' and 'reverse diodes' to protect the main system of the engine. You can't just hook up blue and red wires to accommidate your stereo needs.

the red wire is your "hot" wire / power lead. Sounds like a short somewhere along that wire. Basically, your red wire is touching something that is draining the juice from the battery, causing your battery to drain/ die. There was probably nothing wrong with the alternator either (sorry to say). bring it back to the installer. Any reputable installer will take care of the issue immediately.
