the greatest people i have read ABOUT? look up a man by the name of srinivasan ramanujan, he was a mathematician and his life, along with his unparalleled genius is fascinating.
great works by great people? too many to name, literature and philosophy are in my opinion by far the most beautiful. tennyson for example, what a profound poet, schopenhauer, nietzsche, russell, shakespeare, whitman, etc. one could spend much more than a lifetime reading these works, it would be a worthwhile life indeed.
