Greed in America is alive and well. Has anyone thought about the idea of a Federal MAXIMUM wage? People are being hired as CEOs, making millions, running the company into the ground, then retiring on their Golden Parachute. All the while, real wages for the workers stay flat, pension plans become worthless, and benefits dry up. I can understand why we still need unions.
Here's an interesting thought. Eliminate corporate taxes for any company whose highest-paid exective makes no more than 50 times its lowest-paid worker. So if the top guy wants to make a million a year, everybody has to make at least $20,000. If he wants to make 2 million, everybody has to make at least $40,000. Total value of all compensation and benefits. Solves the growing poverty gap AND the minmum wage at the same time.

Are you saying that all CEO's are Republicans? If so, you are truely lost. Minimum wage was designed for teenagers entering the workforce while they gained experience. If you cannot find a job making minimun wage, then you have a lot more problems. What would you like the wage to be??? By the way, very few companies pay minimum wage these days. It's being used as a voting tool by the Democrats to get votes. Very similar to class warfare IMO. Oh by the way, if anyone has made a lot in the stock market, please give it back to society because you really didn't earn it! Please people, wake up!

Minimum wage is a tool of the unions to base their contracts. Minimum wage is for unskilled labor and teenagers entering the workforce. Not many people remain at that level.
Illegal aliens work for less than minimum wage and take the unskilled teenager jobs.
A good CEO is worth what he can negotiate. He is creating profits for investors and jobs.
Republicans vote against minimum wage because it destroys entry level jobs.

... but they are worth 360 times what an average person is worth ... as a person... right?
that seems to be the defense of the Republicans... it's sad and pathetic... and they all think that they are going to get there some day as long as they "believe in the party"

l o l surprisingly humorous. i'm optimistic William Krystol or another Republican insider writes her stuff and make it folksy and slightly garbled to sound as though she wrote it. the priority is that it's not precise and packed with incorrect information. She isn't an authority in economics and whilst she tries to mimic one, curiously like double confer with obfuscate any genuine which ability. Thats why she would not handle themes in considerable way in any communicate board. She takes slightly authoritative top-wing gobbledegook and slightly information here and there and her followers consume it up because of the fact they dont know the version. The Sarah Palin personna is a media hoax. i wish human beings do not take too plenty inventory in this sham. P.s. If the Repubs can get numbskull Bush elected, they are able to get her elected.
