why does a person has to get into the rotten pond of office politics, isnt there any way out, why do some seniors prefer only those who are bootlickers ??? by wht time will this ppl keep this absurd culture live ?????? how can a person grow as a professional and at the same time be good to his bias boss ?????????

People who likes bootlicker probably lack of self-confident. They will never learn no matter how much time they are given because they love attention and afraid being 'left-out'. Hence, they abuse their 'seniority power' just to get more attention. Sadly but true fact is they will never grow as a professional.
Learn how to live with it, alternatively quit to move on for a better future and working live. I've chosen to quit my job, and no regret at all. :)

Office politics is human nature. It thrives where it's tolerated. There's no getting around it.
And contrary to your inference that behaviours ranging from boot-licking to the infamous Lewinsky Manoeuvre inhibit professional growth? They don't. Not really. It's just that everyone recognises it when they see it, and no-one respects those who do it - not even the ones who benefit from it. So take heart.

Join a SMALL business and become a valuable team player .. office politics does not feature very high in small business..all that matters is PERFORMANCE!
