originally the society was divided into many societies which each did different types of work.....as the ages passed, and as the world changed, the people doing certain jobes earned more money than others and thats why people statred looking down on certain jobs and this is how it actually started

An Indo-European peoples called the Harappa invaded from Eastern Europe around 1500 BC. They had three classed; Priests (Brahmins), Warriors (Ksatriyas), Artisians (Vaisyas), Others, (servants to the first two), (Vaisyas).

Conquered locals became another class of servant (Sudras) and a fifth class was added later. They did all the dirty work and are called, Untouchables .
