I have tried braiding my hair when it's when but, it just doesn't work.

People I know use mousse, or like a curling styling spray or gel, and you just, sort of, gather chunks of your hair and squeeze, then gently let it go, but do this after you get out of the shower and towel dry it. I do this to an extent but my hair is naturally wavy/loose curls.

You could try braiding you hair when it is wet and then keeping it in for a while (like overnight).

Or just crunch your hair a little, or use a curling iron or yah lol. Hope that helped

you can go to a hair stylist and get a body wave perm that way is loosely done in waves not like a french poodle tight perm
