Black metal guitar players?

Question

If your into black metal and play guitar my question is do you use heavy, med,or light picks. and in case you know the immorttal song tyrants what effect is he using on the guitar. Thank u

Well i used heavier gauges at first but it was kind of messing me up some. I prefer the medium or light picks because they allow me more flexibility and allow me to speed up without feeling like im picking with a flat rock. The light picks can be really thin but some people prefer that feeling and how it bends easier to glide over the strings better but medium seems to offer best of both worlds, it has stability but also has flexibility. I say medium but then again it doesnt just depend on your picks, it also depends on the type and gauge of strings youre using but thats another question.

I don't listen to "black metal" although I like some heavy metal, mostly from the 80s. Van Halen, Scorpions, etc But i do play guitar in several styles. The best pick, I think, is the medium gauge. Light gauge is too flimsy and heavy gauge is too stiff. But its all a matter of personal preference. It depends on your picking style.

Now that I kicked my son of the computer, I use a nylon medium for reg. metal. plus they don't get rough edges as easy

or a pitch fork will do
