carpets,olive oil,dried fruits,ornaments ,jewelry,clothing, and cloth,Tools,pottery,everybody traded slaves in those days as well.

If they don't trade how are they going to get what they needed, like food. Also trading can help spread ideas and beliefs. the more trading they get going, the more money and the stronger there goverment going to be. If people don't trade in ancient time, I can't imagine what todays world going to be like. Good luck with your ancient world history class hope you get A's...(I guess)
