Really! People who tell other people to get a life are doing the exact same thing the other person is doing! Do think that if they had a life, they would be on here telling other people to get one? Funny... I could be taking this to literal, but that's the way I am.

"Get a life" would be a really nice thing for someone to say compared to some of the other things people have said to my questions. Just like anywhere or in any forum in the USA these days, if you don't agree with the PC majority, the mindless, thoughtless non-thinkers, and if you have an opinion, no matter how well-thought-out, that differs with the acceptable social opinion that we are brainwashed by the media to believe today, then you get slammed with nasty comments, you get accused of being a "racist," you get reported, etc., etc. I liked this forum when I first started, but it's starting to get old because I cannot engage anyone in a thoughtful discussion without such retribution. Your questions are indeed thought-provoking, and it would be interesting to discuss them with you in a forum where people could truly talk it out without being labeled or reported or removed altogether! Peace.

I say this to people who perseverate on something rediculous that makes them look as though they have no life. But in reality, I think we all could get more of a life then spending hours answering yahoo questions!

It's basically an expression which means that you do something other than what you're doing now. Similar to get lost or loser, etc.

Some people are offended by it. Most people, myself included, just smile it off.

There are more insulting remarks being typed here other than "get a life".

Peace.

Well personally I tell someone to get a life when whatever they are saying is to insignificant to elicit a response beyond the superficial. I dont know why others say it though.
